I understand the unique challenges facing humanitarian mothers, because I have been there myself; the hypervigilant nervous system that doesn't know how to rest, the challenges of balancing relationships and work, the identity questions when your future looks uncertain, the overwhelming responsibilities of having to manage it all while caring for the people we serve with passion and commitment.
I reached a point where it all felt too much.
I was no longer willing to put myself and my own well being second, and knew something had to change.
It was only when I took my own healing seriously that things started to shift and I was able to thrive again.
